Karla is originally from Mexico City and moved to Charlottesville when she was 10. She worked as a Teaching Assistant for Albemarle County Public Schools for 7 years before joining the Equity Center as a Family Coordinator for the Starr Hill Pathways program. She's always had a passion for helping others. She lives in the Southwood neighborhood and strives to be an advocate and voice for her community. She is committed to providing youth with equitable access to resources and opportunities.
